Wife
We were married on the beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina in June 2011. My husband, Ryan, is a plastic surgeon who completed his training in Dayton, Ohio. After training we moved back toward my hometown and the Louisville, KY area in the summer of 2021.
Mom
Our son Carter was born March 8, 2016 and our daughter Charlotte was born June 11, 2019. I was pretty convinced I was going to be surrounded by dudes forever… stomping in creeks, going to car shows, listening to stinky feet humor, the whole #boymom life. When we found out Charlotte was joining us, I was excited to experience some of my own “girlier” childhood favorite activities with her.
Carter is smart and curious. He loves all things Lego, science, and outdoors. He says he’s going to grow up to be an engineer or a farmer.
Charlotte is both feisty and kind. She loves princesses, dolls, and books. She isn’t sure what she wants to be when she grows up yet, but watch out because she’ll probably figure out how to run this place soon.
As a family we love exploring new places, having dance parties, playing outside, visiting the library, and soaking up every free minute we can get.
Teacher
I taught ten years of elementary education, spent mostly in third grade. I had always wanted to be a teacher and loved working with those kiddos. I also maintained a teacher-blog and curriculum store, Ms. Fultz’s Corner. I resigned from teaching in 2014 to pursue my own small business goals and start our family, but I still consider myself a teacher at heart. I like to think that I’m still helping kiddos via my curriculum store, while saving teachers valuable time too.
Website Designer + Brand Consultant
Being a perfectionist, I taught myself a lot while creating my own website and curriculum materials. I began offering this service to friends, but then word of mouth turned it into a side gig. I now design primarily for WordPress at Design by Christi. Giving others a platform to share their talents with others has been a rewarding ripple effect to watch. I officially opened Plaid Apple LLC. in January 2012 to house these growing companies.
Sometimes Crafter
My friends tease me that there probably isn’t anything I don’t do at this point, but working on Pinterest projects is much cheaper than therapy. Sewing baby items, working on home projects, a brief stint in baking, hobby photography. I like to use the creative side of my brain to balance out my type 1 tendencies.
