If you’re following along with us on Instagram, then you know we are in the middle of a move from Dayton to Louisville. That means it’s been a little while since I’ve shared one of our handprint/footprint crafts. We decided to keep things suuuuper simple this time because of that!
As always, you can have kids write their own words, draw them yourself, or download my printables to print-and-go. This is especially nice if you’re working with multiple kids, day cares, preschools, etc.

I confess that I try hard to get cute final projects for us and the grandparents, but we make the process FUN! I always print more copies that we need so that we have extras for accidents. I also let the kids GO TO TOWN with their own version of each project. Charlotte was a big fan of qtip stamping!
Ice Cream Handprint Craft
Charlotte’s made a simple handprint stamped on top of a brown construction paper triangle. We tried both fingerprints and q-tip stamps as the sprinkles. The qtip marks looked better and she had way more fun doing it that way. Then I just topped it with a construction paper cherry. You could make this really fun with multiple scoops and other toppings!

Grill Handprint Craft
Carter decided to make a grill. He’s obsessed with “kiss marks” on hot dogs and grilled pizza this time of year. We could have dressed this up with some tiny food, grilling tools, etc. if we had more time. We practiced cutting circles (and then cutting them in half) for the grill. He also got to practice using a ruler as a straight line. Great fine motor practice!

Of course, we had to celebrate with a cookout and ice cream after our effots!
