With winter right around the corner, the kids and I skipped ahead with our seasonal keepsake art projects. Usually Carter and Charlotte each make their own project, but this time I decided to mix-and-match to make these sweet snow buddies.

If you haven’t seen our craft projects before, we’ve been creating these since Carter was born. We make duplicates for ourselves and each set of grandparents to put in 8×10 picture frames that we gifted everyone when each kiddo was born.
I prefer to use ink pads instead of paint because the ink really shows the finer details and is less messy. Because we’re making multiples of each page, I also like to print our titles instead of writing them myself. When the kiddos get older, they could write their own phrases and draw the accessories on if they’d like. I personally love the mixed materials look of the construction paper though.
Penguin Footprint Art
After brainstorming options, Carter decided he wanted to make penguins. I helped the kiddos stamp one foot each on the paper. I love seeing how Charlotte’s little foot is really catching up with his! Because the accessories ended up being pretty tiny, I cut them out this time but Carter helped glue everything down. Paper punches really came in handy for the rounds and snowflakes, but the other pieces were freehanded.
Cardinal Handprint Art
I chose cardinals for Charlotte’s page and helped each kiddo stamp their handprints. Charlotte’s hand is on top and Carter’s is on bottom. Again, paper punches were perfect for the eyes and snowflakes and the other pieces were freehanded.
Need the Printables?
I think the finished projects turned out super cute and will carry us through until we refresh for Valentine’s Day. If you’d like to grab these printables to create with your kiddos too, you can download them in my Design Shop here and then print as many copies as you need for your personal use.
