Whether you’re a nail newbie or a nail snob, I have something I think you need to see. If you know me, then you know I’m a nail girl. I have had my nails done pretty much continuously since 2010. I’m about to let you in on a major nail secret.
My nail obsession all started with biweekly Saturday morning salon gel manicures leading up to our wedding. Each appointment was a little treat to myself. It was bliss! But then eventually the time and expense really started to add up. My husband and I were commuting 30 minutes in the opposite directions to work each day, so our weekends were becoming more precious. Twenty minutes to the salon, an hour there, twenty minutes home was precious time every other Saturday. Then add in the mani cost and tip, I decided I’d rather spend the time and money on dates with my new husband.
Around that same time, I discovered Jamberry nail wraps. Yes, those Jamberry nails that you probably saw all over Facebook a couple years ago. They were fun, they were much more durable than polish for me, and they came in endless fun patterns. The learning curve was totally worth it.
But variety is the name of the game and I’m happy to have this new little tool in my manicure bag of tricks. Over time my taste in nail art has shifted toward simple designs– negative space nail art, ombre designs, dreamy shades of pink or moody grays. Swoon! That’s why I am l-o-v-i-n-g this new find!
Simple One Step Gel Option
Creating your DIY gel mani at home has never been easier. It’s as simple as a UV light, a bottle of primer, and a color of your choice.
You paint one thin coat of primer (optional, but seriously recommended) to create an even, rubbery base. Then cure in the light for 99 seconds.
Add one medium-thick color coat and cure for an additional 99 seconds.
That’s IT! Two simple steps and you’re good to go for one to two weeks. The formula is a dream and makes application so simple.
This beauties are made to last. Here are my personal results– day 1, day 5, and day 10.
