After holding out as long as possible, Carter just received his first Stitch Fix Kids. I was hesitant because kids grow out of clothes frequently and my guy plays super hard, so I hate spending a lot of money on his wardrobe. However they suckered me in with those late night Instagram ads and I was able to get the styling fee waived on my first box. Because I could literally send the whole box back without paying a thing, I decided to go for it.
As I was completing his style profile, I was actually pleased to find out that the children’s pricing was much more affordable than I had anticipated. I requested a spring/summer fix with mostly comfortable, but trendy, styles. Carter isn’t in school yet, so I wanted mix-and-match outfits for play dates and adventures.
A few days later, the box arrived! Carter looooves getting mail and could hardly wait to open it. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen his videos! He was especially thrilled with his “glitter” sequin shirt that can change designs and this dinosaur shirt.
Here’s the thing… trying on clothes with Carter is an adventure in itself. He is such a ham, he plays in the mirror, he has his own opinions about everything, and you get maaaybe 3-5 tries before he’s over the whole thing. I order a lot of clothes by mail for him so we can try them on in phases at home and then return what doesn’t work back to the store. I love that Stitch Fix shows up at my door and the extras get packed right back up in a box to send back for free.
I loved the variety in this box! The pieces mix/match with each other and lots of his existing pieces too. Carter is between sizes. 4T is getting small, but 4/5 is big. I opted to size up to 5 and planned for him to have room to grow this summer.
I have trouble finding jeans for him, but these fit like a charm. They are keepers for sure! The rest of the pieces were quite big. Even tied, he did a spin and the shorts slid right off. Carter loooooved the dinosaur shirt and the ‘glitter’ shirt, so we opted to keep those and he’ll grow into them. The rest we sent back, only due to size.
Let’s talk price. Just like the regular Stitch Fix, you receive a 25% discount if you keep the whole box. That made our total $132 for all 10 pieces. At $13 per piece, that isn’t any more than I typically pay locally. Because we sent some back, we did end up paying a little more for each item we kept though.
I will 100% order him another box. I’m already looking forward to seeing what cute girl styles they will have for Charlotte when she’s big enough. Children’s boxes start at 2T and go up to size 14.
Interested in trying your own box? Here’s a referral link where you can take $25 off your first box. Full disclosure I will also receive $25 off of Carter’s next box if you use my link, so we both win!
I would love to see what styles you get. Tag me on Instagram! I also added some of our box reveals to my stories.
